Supporting you.

We are also on the journey with our participants' carers and significant others.

We encourage you to be involved from the very beginning of our participant’s relationship with aha.

We recognise you play a critical role in the health and wellbeing of your family member, friend, or partner.

We understand you may also require compassion, support, and education.

Once we have our participant’s consent, we can engage with you in the following ways ……

Informal Meet Ups

We invite you at least twice a year to meet informally with other carers and significant others to provide a safe and confidential forum for mutual support and information sharing.

Participants & Carers Advisory Committee

We are committed to listening and seeking feedback so we can continue to improve. aha has established a Participants & Carers Advisory Committee as a more formal way to engage with participant and carer representatives.

Meeting quarterly, this Committee provides an opportunity to discuss current and future services and programs with senior management. We also invite the Committee to present feedback directly to the Board.

Learning

We know that understanding mental health conditions can help you in your journey with aha and your loved one. We provide opportunities to learn about specific mental health conditions, the impact of other factors such as drugs and alcohol, and services provided by other agencies. We will also put you in touch with organisations that may be able to provide you with additional support.
